    Genetics and Molecular Research (GMR), founded in 2002, is an online open access peer-reviewed journal available at www.geneticsmr.com. It is an official publication of Ribeirão Preto Science Foundation (FUNPEC-RP). GMR publishes and makes available original research papers concerning Genetics, Molecular Biology, Evolution, and Bioinformatics. The staff at GMR is dedicated to maintaining a prestigious journal of high scientific quality, recognized worldwide. The types of articles, the expertise of the authors, and the editorial board all help maintain and influence the impact factor of GMR and its increasing international visibility.
